Monday Made it Pinterest!

Well, I've got 2 more weeks of summer vacay and thankfully one more quick trip to the beach this weekend for my anniversary... (wow...8 years...where does the time go??).  So, here's to my second to last Monday Made it :(  These have really helped me get stuff done for my classroom this summer.

Thanks Tara!!

A few weeks ago, I'd pinned this pin to one of my boards:

I thought that was such a good idea!  Not to mention adorable :)  So, I set out on a quest to find the proper materials to recreate such a cutie ;)

After one trip to Hobby Lobby (cue violins....) I had all I needed... one piece of wood.  The rest I had at home, so that made for a cheap and easy craft.  Here's some of the steps:

First I painted my wood... I should have probably sanded the edges because they were pretty rough, but patience is not one of my strong points...especially while my 2 year old is napping :)  I did 3 coats on the front and 2 on the edges and back.  Then I found some scrapbook paper and printed out "No Name!".  There's a little trick I picked up somewhere...so I don't know who to credit, but when you type your words, you can go under the font option in Word and just get the outline of the letter so your paper shows through.  Very handy in this case...or you could always go get stickers.  Anyways, I laid them down to get spacing correct and then I modge podged them down, added a few owl stickers (of course!) two coats of varnish, and then went on to paint my clothespins.

Now, I've seen pins where you can get dye to dye your clothespins any color... well, I'm too lazy and cheap.  Ha!  I only used 5 and didn't want to go to the trouble when I could paint them myself, so that's what I did.  A little superglue and I've got a finished board!

I think I'm going to find some strong magnets to attach to the back and hang it either on my desk or board... won't know for sure until I get in there.

I also want to show you my new toy....

This girl is in love.  Let's just say I've used 52 8.5x11 sheets of laminate and 20 5x7 sheets... and I'm still not done.  I've been busy!!  A big shout out to Patty at 2nd in Line for having a lot of awesome freebies for my math stations and being awesome enough to let me know about them!!  Yay Patty!!

My poor hubs...and my poor messy living room!

  6. I love the no name board. I always use the line, "No name, no fame." One of my little girls went home and told her mother I said, "No naming, no flaming!" Hmm.... doesn't have quite the same ring to it.
